Barcode Billing: Product Matching and Review
Short answer
A barcode assists product lookup. It does not independently verify pricing, tax classification or whether goods may be sold.
Map and test a label
Start with a few representative products. Scan each label and compare the matched product and pack size with the physical item. Resolve duplicate mappings before regular use.
Review the selected row
Check quantity, selling price, discounts and configured tax details. Barcode lookup does not remove the need to review the invoice.
Check the batch
Verify the actual goods and recorded batch information. A barcode may identify a product without identifying a particular batch; do not assume every manufacturer label is batch-specific.
Test the device
Use the intended camera or scanner with the counter device and connection. Check whether the labels read reliably before printing a full set.
